Most Mass Effect players would go to war for female Commander Shepard - she has such a soft spot in our hearts, and we’re not the only ones.
The actor who lent her voice to the role, Jennifer Hale, is so eager to be back she would happily reprise the role, bringing the legendary Commander back to the Mass Effect series.
In fact, Hale has gone on to say that she would happily play anyone in the next game, because she simply loves the franchise that much.
This all emerged from an interview with IGN, where Hale responded to several burning questions, but the lead among them was a query on whether she would return to the series.

When asked, “Would it have to be Shepard, or would you play anyone?” Hale replied, “Anyone. I love that universe. I’m ready. Anytime.”
This is, of course, very exciting to hear. Should there be a chance to bring in Hale to deliver new voice work for the upcoming fifth game, she’s already waiting by the phone.
Some narrative leaps would need to be made to bring her back as Shepard, unless there’s some kind of message sent from the past, but surely BioWare could make it work.
Hale went on to encourage fans to ask for her return, saying, “Everyone out there, the more you tell them what you want, maybe the likelier it is that it'll happen.”

You heard the Commander, start making your pleas to the bigwigs and narrative designers.
The next big step for the Mass Effect franchise is said to take the story hundreds of years into the future, but details are very thin on the ground.
The game could still be many years away, which means the next time we see this universe play out, might be with the TV show currently in production with Amazon Studios.
