So, Horizon Forbidden West will be upon us very soon. And yes, for real this time - the game has gone gold now, which means there’s definitely not going to be any more delays, and we’ll all be able to experience Aloy’s new journey come 18 February.

However, in the build up to the game’s release, every single look at it we’ve gotten so far has been captured on the PS5. I mean, as you’d expect - they’re always going to want it to look as good as it possibly can for the main advertisements. Well, now, we’ve got our first look at what Forbidden West looks like on the PS4 Pro, and it’s genuinely spectacular.

Before we go on, be sure to check out the trailer for Horizon Forbidden West below.

In a series of short clips released on the PlayStation Blog, we can take a look at the gorgeous Plainsong, home to the Utaru tribe, as well as Aloy engaged in combat with two different types of enemies - Clamberjaws and Bristlebacks. Not only does everything look incredibly clean, but Aloy’s movement is as smooth as butter. Check out one of the clips below.

If you’ve not been able to pick up a PS5 yet (you’re not alone there), and were thinking about giving Forbidden West a miss until you did, you honestly might want to reconsider. Obviously, yeah, it’s always going to look better on the new-gen console, but PS4 Pro users definitely aren’t drawing the short straw here, either.

It’s also been revealed that completionists can expect to get very busy when the game launches next month. According to German site GamePro, the game’s director, Mathijs de Jonge, has said that the game will be about as long, if not longer than its predecessor, especially when it comes to going for 100%. According to HowLongToBeat, Zero Dawn takes around 60 and a half hours to beat if you leave no stone unturned, so it’s going to be a chunky one, that is for sure. Better make sure that you’ve got your schedule cleared before it releases next month.
