Harry Potter fans have been on quite the roller coaster over the last few days, and all thanks to the matter of the Hogwarts Legacy release date.
Last week it emerged that the open-world Harry Potter RPG was reportedly in trouble" and could be delayed into 2023 as a result. As I'm sure you know, the game was first announced at a PlayStation event back in 2020, and has already been delayed once from 2021 to 2022.
Take a look at Hogwarts Legacy in action below, as if you haven't already watched the one and only trailer for the game a few hundred times already.
Fortunately, just a few days later Warner Bros. reaffirmed Hogwarts Legacy's 2022 release window. Unfortunately, it also stopped short of telling us exactly when, this year, the game will release.
Enter Twitter user AccountNGT, who previously leaked Star Wars: Eclipse and has been making a number of claims about Hogwarts Legacy over the last few weeks. Earlier this month, AccountNGT insisted Hogwarts Legacy is actually close to being finished, and told fans who were unsettled by the 2023 rumours to approach them with scepticism. They were vindicated by Warner Bros. hours later.
Now that the delay rumour has been debunked, the leaker has once again taken to Twitter to insist that development on the game is "going well", and that it's currently aiming for a Q3 2022 release. That would mean the game would launch over Summer, anywhere between July and September. Not much longer to wait, then.
Current rumours also point to a PlayStation event happening next month, where it's believed we'll get a fresh at Hogwarts Legacy in action. Expect to hear more details on the game, which will hopefully include a release date, then.
