The long-awaited Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy might be a little further away than we'd originally thought.
The Harry Potter RPG was originally announced in 2020, with a vague release window of 2021. Unfortunately, it ultimately became clear to developer Avalanche Software Hogwarts Legacy would need more time in the oven, and the game was delayed 2022.
Take a look at Hogwarts Legacy in action below!
Multiple reports and leaks suggested that the game would be launching in the first half of this year, with many believing that the magical open-world RPG was actually close to being finished. Sadly, it seems we may well be waiting another year, at least.
Almost a year to the day Warner Bros. delayed Hogwarts Legacy from 2021 to 2022, we're now learning that the game is in trouble and may need further delays. Clearly, that's not the news wizarding world fans across the globe will have been waiting to hear.
As reported by Eurogamer, Sacred Symbol's podcast host Colin Moriarty has heard "behind the scenes that [the] game isn't coming out this year" and "it's in some sort of trouble".
Take this with a pinch of salt for now. There's been no official word from Warner Bros. on whether or not there are plans to further delay Hogwarts Legacy.
Moriarty also declined to elaborate on the "trouble" the game is in, but we'd imagine he's implying that development isn't going as smoothly as Warner Bros. and Avalanche might have liked. Still, tfact we haven't seen anything of it since one reveal trailer at the end of 2020 isn't the best sign, to be honest.
Current rumours suggest that a PlayStation event next month will give us a fresh look at Hogwarts Legacy in action. Expect to hear more details on the game, including a release date (hopefully), then.
