Hogwarts Legacy 2 is already being teased by the developer

Well, this was pretty much inevitable, wasn’t it? Following a phenomenal launch, Warner Bros. Games has all but confirmed a sequel (or sequels, plural) to Hogwarts Legacy.
The hype for the Wizarding World RPG has been impossible to ignore. Even before the game left early access, the title accumulated over 300,000 players on Steam alone, and it's not slowed down since. Fans have been praising the devs for creating the “definitive Harry Potter experience”, and many are already begging for a New Game Plus mode so that they can continue their Hogwarts adventure.

Speaking to Variety, Warner Bros. Games president David Haddad revealed just how popular the game has been so far, along with some player stats.
“The player engagement is spectacular,” Haddad said. As of Tuesday (21 February), players have put 267 million hours into the game, and have grown 393 million magical plants, brewed 242 million potions, and defeated 1.25 billion Dark Wizards (thanks, Variety).
More importantly, it was revealed that Warner Bros. sees Hogwarts Legacy as a long-term franchise, which strongly implies that there could be multiple sequels in the future.
While there’s no doubt that many will be excited about this, the decision to produce any sequels will almost certainly be controversial. Many have been boycotting Hogwarts Legacy due to its association with J.K. Rowling, who has been criticised for making harmful comments about the trans community. Despite the fact that she hasn’t been involved with its development, she’ll still profit from its sales as she’s the creator of the Wizarding World franchise (and obviously, the same will apply for any future games).
So far, Hogwarts Legacy is only available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It’ll come to PS4 and Xbox One on 4 April, and Nintendo Switch on 25 July.
