Despite the majority of Rockstar Games currently working on Grand Theft Auto VI, a recent leak has revealed that it is far from done with Grand Theft Auto Online.

Grand Theft Auto VI is just a year away and with it having been ten-years since we saw the last entry, fans are eager to get stuck into the long-awaited action-adventure title.

Until then, Grand Theft Auto Online still welcomes legions of players on a daily basis and continues offering updates to that dedicated fanbase.

Now according to a discovery by reliable leaker and insider TezFunz2, Rockstar is currently working on a public mission creator for the online game.

New in-game files were recently discovered which shows the studio intends to add a whole new branch of content to the game which allows players to create their very own missions.

‘Rockstar is seemingly working on a public version of the Mission Creator,” Tez posted to Twitter.

“This new script was added with the Bottom Dollar Bounties update, but is currently empty.”

The Tweet was posted alongside a screenshot of the newly discovered folder which reads 'public_mission_creator.ysc'.

The file being empty could mean that development is still in its early stages or it could mean Rockstar wanted to keep this potential feature a secret.

Regardless of what it means, fans are understandably excited to see a whole new branch of content added to GTA Online.

“Makes a lot of sense to add before end of life support. User generated content has proven time and time again to be efficient to keeping the community alive,” one comment read.

Another said: “Oh, that's cool! If this is actually in-depth, I could see it helping keep the game alive in between updates and in the coming year(s)”.

It remains to be seen when we will get the mission creator added to GTA Online but it is exciting to know nonetheless.
