With last night’s Sony State of Play giving us some information on Borderlands 4 release date, it inadvertently gave us some information about when we can expect Grand Theft Auto VI.

Not only that but thanks to another announcement by Rockstar Games, it would seem as though Grand Theft Auto VI is a lot closer than we think.

Check out the official Grand Theft Auto VI trailer below!

Sony hosted its State of Play event last night and although GTA VI was not explicitly mentioned, Borderlands 4 was.

With the highly-anticipated FPS title expected to be released in September 2025, we could expect GTA VI to follow in around October/November.

Up until now, we have merely had a “Fall 2025” window but this information has seemingly narrowed it down even more.

Additionally, Rockstar Games has officially launched a Discord server which even features its very own dedicated GTA VI channel.

This would mean that for those who join the server, they could be receiving more updates over the coming weeks which come straight from the horse’s mouth.

As of now, the server is home to over 113,000 members and we can assume that whenever Rockstar has an official announcement to make, it will make it there.

However, for fans, they hope this will encourage Rockstar to interact with its fans as a whole.

“Hope this means they're going to interact more with the community,” one Twitter user said in response to the Discord server news.

Another added, “This is something I would've never seen them doing.”

With Rockstar having only released one official trailer for GTA VI so far, these changes could mean that a second one is on the horizon and it would definitely make sense considering it has been over a year since any official update from developers.

However, with Take-Two Interactive assuring fans that there would be no delays, there is just a few months to go until we can finally get our hands on the world’s most anticipated game.
