With the first and only Grand Theft Auto VI trailer having been released well over a year ago now, fans are starting to wonder why Rockstar is keeping the highly-anticipated title so secretive when it comes to regular updates.

Other than its official announcement and its first trailer, Grand Theft Auto VI remains something of a mystery, both when it comes to when fans can expect its second trailer and when the game will launch.

Check out the first and only trailer for GTA VI below!

We do know that GTA VI is still expected to launch in Fall 2025 but neither Rockstar or Take-Two has narrowed down the release date any further.

However, according to Take-Two’s boss Strauss Zelnick, this is for good reason.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Zelnick appreciated that the excitement surrounding GTA VI is the “greatest anticipation [he’s] ever seen for an entertainment property”.

That being said, in comparison to some publishers who reveal their plans “years in advance”, Take-Two is doing things differently by “maintaining the anticipation and excitement”.

"The anticipation for that title may be the greatest anticipation I've ever seen for an entertainment property, and I've been around the block a few times," Zelnick explained.

"I've been in every entertainment business there is, and we want to maintain the anticipation and the excitement."

"We do have competitors who will describe their release schedule for years in advance, and we found that the better thing to do is to provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window in order to create that excitement on the one hand, and balance the excitement with unmet anticipation," he continued.

"I don't always get it exactly right, but that's what we're trying to do."

In my opinion, Grand Theft Auto VI will have the same level of anticipation regardless of what official news is released.

However, we trust the process, especially as there are just a few months left to go until we finally get our hands on the next Grand Theft Auto title. Finally.
