GTA 6 tease posted online before being swiftly deleted gets fans excited

A Grand Theft Auto 6 tease posted online before being swiftly deleted has got fans excited over a possible character return.

In just a few weeks, we’ll actually have the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer to feast our eyes upon but in the meantime, fans are clamouring over an excited and now-deleted tease.

In case you missed it (which I somewhat doubt is possible), Rockstar Games took to social media last week to announce that GTA VI’s first trailer will land in early December. It awaits to be seen if it’ll debut at The Game Awards on 7 December. I’m oh so very excited to put the era of speculation behind us. We will have real footage to scrutinise - and I cannot wait. In these final few weeks of the speculative era though, we’ve heard that GTA VI will feature the franchise’s first child character and that a fan-favourite weapon will return. Today though, I bring you news of a potential Franklin return.

Take a look at this incredible Vice City remaster mod, the rumoured setting of GTA VI.

Franklin was last seen back in GTA V but fans are convinced he could return in GTA VI following a now-deleted tease released by the actor. Shortly before Rockstar Games took to Twitter to announce the upcoming trailer, Franklin actor Shawn Fonteno said, “If I told y’all I’d get in trouble.” The Rockstar tweet appeared a short while later and Fonteno’s tweet disappeared. Hm, very mysterious.

You can see why fans think Fonteno may be returning as Franklin in GTA VI. It’s certainly not guaranteed though. Fonteno could be teasing a new project, deleting the tweet to avoid confusion that it’s linked to Rockstar’s announcement. As I mentioned, this is all speculation so do take any rumours with a generous pinch of salt.

It’s made fans suspicious though. “Trust me, those Rockstar NDAs are strict AF. They were on his ass for sure,” said one, while another dubiously added, “They cause unnecessary excitement to keep the game on the agenda.” Time will tell.
