GTA 6 fans seem to be backing a possible second delay to the game, with some saying Rockstar should take all the time it needs.
Originally announced for 2025, Rockstar Games announced back in May that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be delayed to 26th May, 2026 to give the game a bit more time for polish.
Although that new release date seems to be now set in stone, there’s always a chance that the date could move again, something that GTA fans fear could happen.
Earlier this week, a new leak suggested that while Rockstar was still confident on the May release date, a potential delay to September was on the table.

Insider Millie A reported that the planned release was still May 2026, but that “internal talks suggest a possible slip to Sep”.
Although the news of a potential second delay would be disappointing, some fans appear to be in support of it.
“I really don’t care if it takes till 2030,” writes one GTA fan on X (formerly Twitter). “Give them all the time they need!”
“We’ve waited so many years… a few more months won’t hurt,” another fan writes. “Let them polish it!”

“Just don’t give us a Cyberpunk 2077 situation,” writes a third reply.
Despite the positivity surrounding this report, some comments also seem to not be in favour of another delay.
“I just want the game before I die, idc if it's buggy atp,” writes one fan. “Just let us play it, we’ve waited long enough.”
“I have a feeling this will be another Cyberpunk,” writes another. “The hype is too high and people will get disappointed. Difference here is that Rockstar abandons their single-player for multi-player expansions that make them more money so whatever is going to be broken will be like that forever.”

I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Rockstar considers another delay to GTA 6. If the rumour is true, it probably won’t be announced until later in 2025, or even early 2026.
