It is hard to believe that we are officially less than a year away from the release of Grand Theft Auto VI and fans are starting to realise that it “doesn’t feel real”.

Despite receiving a delay earlier this year, making it so that we would have to wait until May 2026 as opposed to fall 2025, we are in the homestretch when it comes to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Regarded as one of the biggest game releases of all time, this will be the first Grand Theft Auto entry we have received since Grand Theft Auto V was released way back in 2013.

Not only that but players will be returning to Vice City where they'll follow the crime-filled escapades of brand-new protagonists Jason and Lucia.

Grand Theft Auto VI has definitely been a long time coming and with just two official trailers under its belt, Rockstar is still keeping information close to its chest when it comes to the sheer size and scope that the game will offer.

With the hit title expected to be released on 26 May 2026 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, there is less than 10-months to go and fans are starting to feel the hype.

That is definitely the case for one fan who recently took to r/GTA6 to share the following thought.

“GTA VI coming out in 10 months doesn’t feel real. Like how did we get to this point? After years and years of Rockstar milking GTA V, it’s actually unbelievable," they said.

"This is the same game people have been hyping up for years upon years since as early as 2014 which is actually insane if you think about it. There’s no doubt this will be the best GTA game of all time but still can’t believe we’re finally here. Only 10 more months and we’ll be playing Grand Theft Auto VI. That’s wild.”

However, it seems as though this sentiment is not shared by fellow fans who are positive that another delay is inevitable.

“Let’s not act like it's not getting delayed again,” one user posted.

Another agreed, adding, “We’re all going to be really sad when it gets delayed another year and two months out from its release date.”

It remains to be seen if Grand Theft Auto VI will receive another delay but at the time of writing, we can still expect it to land on 26 May 2026.
