GTA 6 release date update is the most important one yet: ‘this is it’

This could go one of two ways

The next few weeks could see those highly anticipating the release of Grand Theft Auto VI finally receive a long-awaited update thanks to Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track for a fall 2025 release but when it comes to a specific date, we are still none the wiser.

Check out the trailer for GTA VI below!

The fall 2025 release window was confirmed last year by Take-Two and fans have had no reason to believe that a delay was potentially on the cards.

However, on 15 May, Take-Two will be having its Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year 2025 Earnings Call which, put simply, could mean that we will receive an update on the potential release date for GTA VI.

This is just one of the ways that Take-Two has kept fans up-to-date over the years as its Earnings Call gives them insight into how the rest of the year will look to them and if GTA VI is still set to be released, we can assume that it will be a very good year for the company indeed.

Not only that but could this mean that the second official trailer will also be on the cards very soon?

Well, news of the upcoming Earnings Call recently hit r/GTA6 and one user hoped that it would mean a “fall 2025 or 2026” release was still on the cards.

“Fingers crossed for fall 2025 and/or more information from Rockstar Games,” user oisinomait posted alongside a screenshot of an email regarding the upcoming Earnings Call.

However, it was not long before fellow eager fans took to the comments and guessed just some of the ways that Take-Two would update us on GTA VI’s progress.

“"It's going to be a very strong and profitable year"”, user AlaaXD joked.

However, user beehappy32 was definitely not being happy when they said, “If we find out it’s delayed, I’m just taking a long break from thinking about GTA 6. I’m going to stop reading, watching videos, talking, or thinking about it. If it’s still on time, then the rest of the year will be a wild ride.”

In comparison, user HK9009 is feeling more optimistic.

“People are getting too worried,” they shared. “We’ve literally been told from the CEO of Take-Two that they are marketing closer to launch. Stop looking at past games. They don’t need to go as hard on marketing for this game, it’s literally the most hyped piece of entertainment in the history of the world. We will get the game this year.”

Well, I guess we will find out in just a few weeks when 15 May rolls around…
