It feels as though waiting for Grand Theft Auto VI has become a full time job in recent years and with just under another year to go, fans will do anything to make the time go that little bit faster.
Well, luckily for them, science may be on their side as a recent social media post reveals that Grand Theft Auto VI will actually launch “earlier than we expected”.
It is always hard to believe that it has been almost 15-years since we received the last entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Grand Theft Auto V.
However, with Grand Theft Auto VI expected to be the biggest game launch of all time, it is no surprise that fans are willing to wait, even when its release got pushed from Fall 2025 to 26 May 2026.

Although there is still just under a year to wait, a recent Tweet has revealed that we are a lot closer to the release of GTA VI than we thought.
Why, you may ask?
Well, thanks to an announcement by scientists.
“GTA 6 is coming earlier than expected,” the Tweet from the GTA 6 Countdown account reads.

“According to scientists, today is one of the shortest days in history as Earth is expected to complete its rotation 1.36 milliseconds faster than usual.”
This means that yesterday, when the post was made, was a much shorter day so technically, it has taken us even closer to GTA VI’s launch.
Yes, fans are slowly losing their minds but what can you expect when this game has been over a decade and counting.
“What even is this?” One comment read, and I can’t help but agree.
