GTA 6 pre-orders already stressing fans out

To buy or not to buy

GTA 6 fans are already stressing out over pre-orders, despite not being made available yet.

In May, Rockstar Games delayed GTA 6 from this year until May 2026. Although we have to wait a little longer, it gives the studio time to finish polishing the game up.

With a new trailer and a tonne of screenshots to look at, the hype GTA 6 fans are feeling right now is immeasurable. But we still have to wait just under a year.

GTA 6 pre-orders aren’t available yet, but that hasn’t stopped fans from stressing out over potentially not being there at launch day.

This is especially true for more expensive versions of the game, such as collectors editions, which typically sell out within minutes of being listed online.

One user asked on the GTA 6 Reddit page: “I know that it will all be gone in a few seconds. Normally there are pre-announcements. How is it with pre-orders: Can you pre-order as soon as the announcement comes or is there a date and time in the announcement when it will be available?”

“I’ve never had an issue getting my hands on a collectors edition. You can do it at a brick and mortar store? Or I guess online the day it goes live,” wrote one user in the replies.

“The most important thing to remember about ordering is that it's pointless,” wrote another. “Because whether you order it a year before it comes out, or two days before it comes out, you'll both get it on the same day.”

“I'm against pre-ordering, but I have pre-ordered some games,” wrote another. “Games from companies I know 200% are gonna be amazing when they come out, and they were. RDR2 was one of em and Stellar Blade. Now its gonna be GTA 6.”

Pre-order or no pre-order, it’s safe to say GTA 6 is going to be the talk of the town when it releases on 26th May, 2026.

The FOMO might set in when we get close to that, so you might be tempted to secure your pre-order then.

Regardless of anyone’s feelings on pre-ordering games, it’s your money and your choice on what to do with it.
