It turns out that if you compare the reported map size of GTA 6 with GTA 5’s San Andreas, it’s big.
Rockstar Games is just under eight months away from releasing GTA 6, and there’s still a lot about the game that we don’t know yet. We haven’t even seen a full map for the game.
However, fans have been able to construct a map themselves using video clips and images that have already been released by Rockstar, and the results are pretty impressive so far.
One fan has even taken the GTA 6 mapping project and compared its alleged size with that of GTA 5’s, and the results are pretty impressive.

According to Reddit user anli2132, GTA 6’s map size is roughly 2.7 times bigger than GTA 5's and 2.4 bigger without the panhandle. That’s quite a dramatic difference when you consider how big GTA 5’s map was.
Keep in mind that this isn’t an official map, and we haven’t actually had anything shared from Rockstar yet which suggests this is what the final map looks like.

For example, you can see that Vice City in the bottom right corner seems a bit smaller than Los Santos. However, I’d imagine that it will be a lot bigger in the final release.
“I really hope we don't know half of it, and there's so much more to the map than we've seen,” reads one comment underneath the Reddit post. “Because so far, the mapping project really underwhelms me. I just don't know how uncharted the other areas are, if Rockstar does a good job at hiding it, or if it really just isn't there.”
“I'm certain that we don't even know more than at least 50% - 60% of the map yet,” reads another comment. “It's all been speculative, leaked, and mapping stuff done with what we got so far. Like the Florida panhandle may not exist at all in the final thing as it does in the community map for example, might just continue further north into or near cities like Atlanta or Montgomery for all we know.”
“Can’t wait for the online missions that require us to drive an annoyingly slow vehicle from the top of the map all the way to the bottom,” a third comment reads.

It’ll probably still be a while before we get a good glimpse at the official map for GTA 6, and it may not even drop until launch day. In the meantime, be sure to take any speculation regarding the map with a grain of salt.
