Despite it being just nine months until we finally get our hands on Grand Theft Auto VI, there is still plenty we do not yet know about the highly anticipated Rockstar title.

With just two theatrical trailers under its belt and a library of screenshots, there are still many features in Grand Theft Auto VI which have not yet been revealed and one example is its expansive map.

Although we know that the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise will be set in and around Vice City, the true size of its map still remains an area of discussion.

Earlier this year, alongside the release of the second trailer, Rockstar also revealed the official names of some areas that can be found throughout the map.

This includes: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Grassrivers, and Mount Kalaga National Park.

However, it was another screenshot that got people talking as it features an artistic version of GTA VI’s map and looks a whole lot bigger than we first thought.

The screenshot in question shows one character from the game, Brian Heder, standing over a map with some areas circled and even marked with an ‘x’.

Following this, fans wondered if this truly depicted the size of GTA VI’s map because, if so, it will be bigger than we ever expected.

“With a map that seems so huge, maybe now cars in GTA VI actually have 1:1 realistic acceleration and top speed,” one user shared.

Another user had a good comparison.

“If this map is anything like my love life, I’m getting lost real quick,” they joked.

Of course, this screenshot does not officially confirm the size of Grand Theft Auto VI’s map but it does give us an idea of its sheer scale, even if it details just one condensed area.

With Rockstar still yet to release a gameplay trailer, there is still plenty more we can see ahead of the game’s launch on 26 May 2026 so stay tuned.
