GTA 6 fans losing it over latest teaser from Rockstar

If there's anyone in your life really looking forward to GTA VI, you might want to check in on them.

We're now coming up to a year since the first trailer for GTA VI was released by Rockstar Games, and since then we have had... nothing.

This has done... something to the GTA community. A quick look on the GTA VI subreddit on any given day will show you the fans have been reduced to counting the amount of red cars in a specific screenshot from the trailer, or being excited about the fact the game has ample parking spaces for disabled NPCs.

Obviously, it's the time the fans get something new to pore over before they lose their minds completely. The good news? Something new might just be on the way.

I should stress there have been so many wild theories insisting Rockstar has teased the next GTA VI trailer in some convoluted way, but this one actually has something to it.

If you cast your mind back to November 2023, Rockstar showed off a promotional image for GTA Online which showed a large moon in the background. The specific moon phase used in the image was the same moon phase in the sky on December 1, 2023: the same day Rockstar unveiled the first official trailer for GTA VI.

Why am I bringing this up now? Because fans are convinced Rockstar has just done the exact same thing again.

Reddit user Fabrizerlo seems to have been the first to notice the new GTA Online update announcement posted 1 November as a very specific moon phase featured prominently in the sky (where else would it be, to be fair?).

Those more familiar with moon phases were quickly able to work out the moon shown in the new image is Waning Gibbous, which will next be able to be spotted on Friday, 22 November. Is this when we'll get out next GTA VI trailer?

Honestly, I wouldn't bet against it. This is a solid theory backed up by a strong previous example, and there's no way Rockstar goes through all of 2024 without giving us one more tease for GTA VI ahead of its 2025 release date. It would seem the stars are aligning, so watch this space.
