Another day, another overwhelming level of hype for GTA VI - it feels like there is always something to get excited about.

Most of the time it’s rumours, however, this excitement has been caused by Rockstar Games themselves.

Desperate for trailer 2 for the upcoming GTA 6? Yeah, us too.

If you’re a GTA V player on PC, you’ll have noticed that the game looks a lot better since the most recent update.

This is due to the inclusion of global illumination and dynamic lighting.

How does this relate to GTA VI? Well, I hear you barking, big dog. We’re coming to that.

Over on Reddit, fans are comparing images of from before the update, with the gorgeous visuals since.

There’s a stark difference, and the Redditor who created the thread exclaims, “We can definitively say now that GTA 6 graphics are going to be insane!”

The top reply comes from DoeDon404, who says, “Lighting makes all the difference.”

It really does - the new images are sumptuous, with beams of light bouncing off glass and the bodies of cars.

AgitatedFly1182 notes, “Remember, I think this is RAGE 7. They can’t do much here. Imagine what they’ll be able to do on 9.”

It’s easy to forget that beneath this new lighting, and upgraded visuals, is a game several years old.

With Rockstar Games using a new engine, and new technology, we can only imagine how good GTA VI is going to look.

“God damn, this video makes the difference so clear,” says Skywrpp.

Delancey1 comments, “I am optimistic that Grand Theft Auto VI will be of exceptional caliber, especially considering the extensive testing and refinement.”

If this is a sign of things to come, GTA VI might be the best looking game of this generation.

Fans are excited, hell, everyone is excited, to see how the game looks when the next trailer eventually drops, and the game follows later this year.

  • Grand Theft Hamlet is a chaotic and anarchic ode to Shakespeare and GTA
  • GTA 6 will never meet your expectations
  • GTA VI's release could be a good thing for the video game industry
  • No games should be worth £100, not even GTA 6
