GTA 6 fans torn over new announcement from Rockstar

You can't please everyone

My heart skips a beat every time I see a notification on my phone and it begins with ‘Rockstar Games’.

Alas, Grand Theft Auto VI’s second trailer did not drop yesterday.

Instead, Rockstar took to Twitter to confirm a new free PC upgrade is on the way for GTA V on PC.

Essentially, the upgrade introduces features already available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of GTA Online.

Those who download the new free PC update will be able to migrate all Story Mode and Online progress.

As for what the update entails exactly, well, it introduces new vehicles and upgrades available at Hao’s Special Works - all of which are available to test via Premium Test Rides, HSW Races, and HSW Time Trials.

Users will also now be able to encounter Ambient Animals, with new Wildlife Photography Challenges.

Additional special benefits have been added to the GTA+ membership programme, and the Career Progress feature has been introduced to help you track criminal movements across the game.

There’s a fresh landing page and new items, and the game’s graphics and loading times have also been improved.

When will GTA VI finally drop its second trailer?

This all sounds well and good, and for the most part, it is. PC players are happy.

“Faster loading times, I could literally die of joy,” wrote Twitter user Crowny132.

“Heck yeah. So excited for this,” added an enthused alternagod.

There’s another side to the story though. You see, console users had to pay around $40 for the same upgrade when it originally launched.

“How come us console users didn't get it for free,” complained FriendlyAaron1.

Others complained about how long the update took to arrive on PC, while some simply asked Rockstar if it was aware that GTA VI is on the way this year.
