GTA VI remains without a release date, but that hasn’t stopped fans of the franchise from planning the “ultimate GTA VI launch party”.

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, recently confirmed that we’re unlikely to see or hear more about GTA VI until much closer to its release date, whenever that may be.

Well, it has seemingly been narrowed down.

GTA VI is slated to launch in fall / autumn, so we’re talking September to November.

If you take a look at the rest of Take-Two’s upcoming slate though, Mafia: The Old Country is due to land on 8 August, followed by NBA 2K26 in early September and Borderlands 4 on 23 September.

I’d say that rules a GTA VI September release out then, as Take-Two won’t want its projects to clash.

It’s far more likely that we’ll see the game land in October or November.

As reported by Daily Star’s Lloyd Coombes, when that does happen, fans are planning an epic launch party.

You can view GTA VI’s one and only trailer below.

The party is being planned by Reddit user alexcd421.

“With GTA VI finally arriving in fall 2025, I'm planning an epic launch night party with close friends and family. I want to go all out with a Miami/GTA-themed celebration on a budget, and thought I'd share my plans in case anyone else wants to throw their own GTA VI launch party,” they wrote.

The OP goes on to add that the party will include custom wanted posters of his friends, a countdown timer to release, a costume contest, Nerf gun target competition, a GTA marathon of older titles, tropical drinks “with little umbrellas”, and flamingo, gator, and dolphin props.

Honestly, it sounds like a great party.

Those in the comments either want an invite or were left inspired to plan their own launch event.

“Oh man, I'd love to do all this! Enjoy it and hey maybe you could record it and show us a peek at the party,” replied spyroz545.

“Great Idea! Is there enough time to become ‘good friend’ level before it launches?” added Oldbay_BarbedWire.

“Can I come?” asked Fubarten.

Of course, not everyone will go to the lengths of planning a big ol’ party, but I’m imagining plenty will be booking GTA VI’s release day or week off work.

If only Rockstar could let us know exactly when to do that.
