GTA 6 early download blows fans away: 'never thought I'd see the day'

One way to intensify your hype

Grand Theft Auto VI fans remain enthused about the game’s early downloadable files and honestly, I can’t blame them.

GTA VI is one of those titles that felt so far off that it may never arrive, so the fact that we’re on the final countdown is incredibly exciting.

That’s why fans are rushing to download early game files from the Xbox Store.

I can’t exactly call this one a pre-load, so I’m going to dub it a pre-pre-load.

You can currently find GTA VI listed on the Xbox Store where you can download a small selection of files coming in at 328.76MB.

A traditional pre-load preps installation files ready for a game to install on launch day.

This pre-pre-load preps your console for the arrival of the pre-load installation files.

Like I said, it’s very small and honestly will make no difference at all to your GTA VI experience - especially as the game remains quite a number of months away.

Even still though, fans are keen to download it just so they can have GTA VI sitting as a game on their home screen.

And I’ve got to admit, that brings home just how close we finally are to this monumental release.

Once downloaded, selecting GTA VI will simply show the key art for a few seconds.

You can’t actually access anything meaningful.

In terms of usefulness, I wouldn’t recommend downloading these files until April 2026 at the earliest; they’re just taking up space.

For those looking to fuel their hype though, it’s hard to deny that it’s worth the taken-up space just to have GTA VI listed front and centre on your console.

A quick search online proves how much joy this somewhat redundant file is bringing to fans.

“This is a crazy picture. Never thought I’d see the day that it was on my home screen,” wrote Reddit user Frequent-Yak8825.

“Same, feels illegal,” added Madiero.

With GTA VI featured on both the Xbox and PlayStation storefronts, it’s primed and ready for that pre-order info to drop.

Come on Rockstar, we’re craving it.
