Just when we thought we could relax; the second GTA VI trailer had dropped, Rockstar Games delayed the game, but we understood why, and now there are rumours swirling that it could get delayed again.
Of course, take all of this with your usual pinch of salt, but industry veteran Jason Schreier has said that the game could slip again, commenting “There’s no guarantee that May 2026 is a sure thing.”
Finally, we can put a second trailer for GTA 6 right here
Fans are, understandably, frustrated by these comments, with many of them hoping with all hope that this isn’t the case.

And, while there is a chance the game could slip back again, this really feels like hedging your bets.
Sure, Schreier did predict the last delay, and he’s right about a lot of things, but without a solid source, this could very well just be him telling fans to stay cautious.
“What's taking them so long, just release the game already,” said one impatient player who wants the game in their hands.
Another fan chimed in with, “I remember a time when they used to make decent games fairly quickly.”

Let’s be honest, a game of this magnitude, with the level of detail Rockstar Games is known for, it’s no surprise that GTA VI has taken this long to develop.
“You might as well dead the game if it goes past that… the wait has been entirely too long,” said a Twitter user.
While another simply said, “This is fear mongering.”
Schreier’s comments continued, as reported by Dexerto, “It’s a massive game of 4D chess playing out across the entire video-game industry.”

Not only does the game have to be perfect, especially given the wait, but the release window has to be favourable for Rockstar Games.
One Twitter user has the right idea and explains, “It’s not “could slip even further” in the sense that it’s likely, he’s just saying it’s always possible, duh.”
We’re all hoping that’s the case.
