With Grand Theft Auto 6 fast approaching with the turn of a new year, some fans are worried about the game potentially running at 60FPS and have taken to Reddit to share their concerns.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will arrive sometime in 2025 and it is safe to say that fans are excited for perhaps the most-anticipated game of all time. With Rockstar releasing one official trailer and leaving a lot of information still under wraps, rumours and speculation are running wild including a recent concern over the game’s performance.

This comes after one Reddit user took to r/GTA6 to ask: Will GTA 6 release with 60 fps on consoles? Can GTA 6 run 60 fps on PS5, Series X and mainly Xbox Series S? I feel Series S is holding the current gen console back. Should Rockstar convince Microsoft that they won't release it on Series S?”

With GTA 6 set to launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (and even later for PC), players are concerned over how the game will run for those who choose to play it on the Series S. Compared to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, the console has a lot less power which has resulted in recent titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3 running into issues over its limitations on the Xbox Series S.

That is not to mention how much of a beast GTA 6 is expected to be so it is only understandable that Xbox Series S users are worried.

One Reddit user is staying optimistic when they said: “Probably will have a fidelity, and a performance mode at least. Would be kind of disappointing to not have 60fps”.

Another is feeling less optimistic when they said: “Yes, no doubt that GTA 6 will support 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. However, the performance on the Xbox Series S may vary due to its lower hardware specifications compared to the other two consoles.”

With over a year to go until we are anywhere near release, it remains to be seen how Grand Theft Auto 6 will run but with rumours of next-gen consoles already swirling, we may see a different turnout altogether.
