GTA 5 hefty update adds a ton of free limited-time rewards

It is the Lunar New Year and to celebrate, Rockstar is bringing the festivities to Grand Theft Auto V for a limited time only.

If you celebrate the Lunar New Year or just want to immerse yourself in the culture, then heading over to Grand Theft Auto V’s online component is the way to go.

With Grand Theft Auto Online offering double rewards, new collectibles, holiday gifts, and more, you don’t want to miss out on the limited-time event to kick off the Year of the Snake.

“Kick off the Year of the Snake with a Nitrous-infused bang across three brand-new Lunar New Year Stunt Races, complete with exploding fireworks, cascading lanterns, and a serious test of skill,” the official blog post reads.

“This year’s Lunar New Year festivities in GTA Online also include special themed gifts, new Yuanbao Collectibles, Nightclub bonuses, and more.”

As well as the brand-new stunt races which will see you go up against 15 other players on a series of themed tracks, participating in any of them will earn you 2x GTA$ and RP, as well as a limited-time Lunar New Year livery for the Maibatsu Penumbra FF.

Not only that but if you just so happen to win two races this week, you will be rewarded with $100k GTA$.

Also available until mid-February are the Yuanbao Collectibles.

Hidden around Los Santos, these collectibles give you GTA$ and RP as well as a special bonus for collecting all 36.

If you need some help on possible locations, upgrading your Benefactor Terrorbyte at the Garment Factory will see you get to try out the new Collectible Scanner.

Last but certainly not least is some free cosmetics.

Logging into GTA Online from now until 12 February will reward you with the following items:

• Black Snake Yogarishima Outfit
• Red Serpent Leather Jacket
• Snake Soul Pendant
• Snake King Pendant
• Red Snake Soul Cap
• Gray Snake King Ca

Additionally, finding all 36 Yuanbao Collectibles will get you the Gold Snake Santo Capra Outfit.

All in all, there are a lot of themed items you could earn over the next two weeks so it is time to boot up Grand Theft Auto Online and get participating.
