GTA 5 fans lose it over first official map expansion in years

GTA 5 fans lose it over first official map expansion in years

It's time to venture back to where it all began

This year has flown by, as they all seem to do.

It’s October which means that 2025 isn’t all that far away - and what a bumper year it’s set to be for gaming.

Civilization VII, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Avowed, Monster Hunter Wilds, Atomfall, Borderlands 4, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Ghost of Yōtei, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Fable, and Pokémon Legends Z-A are just a few of the games on the way.

Clearly though, the year’s biggest headliner is GTA VI.

It was around 10 months ago that Rockstar Games dropped GTA VI’s first trailer, although the company has left us in quiet suspense ever since.

There’s so much we still don’t know about, including whether the game will come with a GTA Online-style component.

Assumedly, a successor will arrive, and GTA Online fans are already thrilled at the prospect of starting with a clean slate.

In the meantime though, it’s not yet time to leave GTA Online behind. An exciting new Halloween venture is on the way.

You may as well watch GTA VI’s original reveal trailer one more time. It’s that good.

Rockstar has unveiled this year’s GTA Online Halloween-themed offerings, and it includes one very exciting excursion.

For the first time ever in GTA Online, players will return to North Yankton from next week.

Details are slightly thin on the ground but Rockstar has teased that players will “dispatch the marching tides of the undead in a new Community Challenge available for a limited time”.

You won’t get to access the entirety of North Yankton - only the graveyard - but even still, it’s exciting to be able to once again step foot on a small patch of these prologue hallowed grounds.

“Back to where it all began. Hell ya,” wrote Reddit user hamzaaadenwala.

“It’s great news no matter what kind of gameplay it is,” added an optimistic No-Cheetah-1462.

You see, some players were disappointed at the fact that it’s seemingly not accessible via free roam.

Visiting in a small capacity is better than not visiting at all though if you ask me.
