If you've never played 'Uno' we don't know what to say - we're unironically going to say it's brilliant. Whether you were playing it as a kid, or as an adult with some alcohol involved, the suspense and drama of the game is incredible. Getting that all-important 'Uno' call out and waiting to see if you'll be the victor or some absolute weapon is sending a +4 your way is the height of many a games night. More tense than the final Warzone circle if you ask us.

Anyway, the card game classic is turning 50 - happy, happy birthday to you, Uno - and to celebrate this achievement its parent company is putting on a $50k tournament. That's right, according to ToyNews, Mattel is going to host a tournament, inviting fans from around the world to play Uno for a big money payout, and we're game.

There aren't any details right now on how to sign up for the Uno Championship Series, but on the website Mattel is clear in saying pretty much anyone can sign up for the competition. "Are you the numero uno card player?" it asks. "Do you know the perfect time to change the colour, Reverse the flow, or dish out the devastating Draw Four? Well, here's your chance to prove it! Uno is welcoming fans from all over for a chance to become the definitive Uno Champion! Check back for more details on how to become a part of Uno history."

Along with the championship, Mattel has also released some snazzy new decks outside of the red ones we're all familiar with. These retro edition cards are certainly pretty slick, so much so that they're already out of stock annoyingly.

Oh well, here's a fun fact for you instead. According to ToyNews, Uno decks sell at the rate of 17 decks every minute. Wild. I guess there isn't just uno Uno, huh?
