Ubisoft's Avatar Game Looks Absolutely Gorgeous, Watch The First Trailer Here

Looking good.

Ubisoft has finally officially unveiled the first look at Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora, a brand-new Avatar adventure coming to next-gen consoles and PC in 2022.

While I'd be the first to admit I'm really, really not a fan of James Cameron's 2009 movie, Ubisoft's new game is looking absolutely stunning. The trailer shows off a good chunk of in-engine footage, with out heroes running around a gorgeous Pandora that's powered by the impressive Snowdrop Engine.

Take a look at the trailer below!

This has been a long time coming, of course. Ubisoft announced that The Division studio Ubisoft Massive was developing an Avatar game back in 2017, but the project has remained shrouded in secrecy for all that time.

We now know that Frontiers Of Pandora will be a first-person open-world action-adventure game set in a never-before-explored area of Pandora. Players will take control of a Na'vi as they fight to survive in the wild, explore beautiful but deadly biomes, and fight against humans and their machines.

Back in 2017 Ubisoft teased that its Avatar game would "expand and deepen in the Avatar universe in exciting and innovative ways along with the films." The Massive team has been working closely with James Cameron's production company to create a game that feels like a true and authentic Avatar experience. Does that mean way too long and a little boring? I kid, obviously.

Amazingly, this isn't the only high-profile movie tie-in Ubisoft Massive has on the go. It's also working on an open-world Star Wars game, though we shouldn't expect to see that for a long, long time yet.

Ubisoft will have much more to share on Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora next year, so stay tuned for more information on this one as we get it!
