The first of two major expansions for Assassin's Creed Valhalla is set to release on April 29, and it'll take players to Ireland for the first time in the series' history.
Wrath Of The Druids sees our hero Eivor crossing the sea as she hunts down members of a druidic cult called the Children of Danu. There'll be new quests to undertake, ruins to explore, kings to meet, and ancient artefacts to discover. Basically, a little bit more of everything that made Valhalla great, which is fine by me. "Explore the haunted wilds and beautiful landscapes of Ireland as you battle a druidic cult known as the Children of Danu," reads the expansion's official description. "Conquer ring forts, master the art of smuggling, and gain the favor of Gaelic kings in a new open-world adventure."
Wrath Of The Druids will be available as part of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Season Pass, and can also be paid for and downloaded independently if you don't fancy any of the other upcoming DLC.

If the idea of exploring an open-world Ireland doesn't quite do it for you, then the second major expansion might be more your speed. Currently scheduled for summer 2021, The Siege Of Paris will see players relive the "most ambitious battle in Viking History" as they attempt to infiltrate the French capital.
It's currently unclear if these two expansions are connected in terms of story, but I'd guess that there'll be some narrative tissue connecting the DLC and driving the larger Assassin's Creed plot forward. Given the surprising way Valhalla ended, I'll certainly be tuning back in to see where Ubisoft is taking us next.
Oh, and I'm sure you'll be glad to know that Ubisoft has reiterated Valhalla is getting its own Discovery Tour at some point in 2021. This violence-free mode was first introduced back in Assassin's Creed Origins, and gives players a chance to explore and learn about the stunningly detailed worlds Ubisoft have built. The world of Valhalla is one of the most impressive Ubisoft creations yet, I must say, so I'm excited to explore it in an entirely different way and see what I learn.
