To celebrate the Halloween month, Fortnite is currently hosting its spooky event but things definitely took a terrifying turn thanks to headliner Doja Cat.
Starting on 9 October and running until 1 November, Fortnite is hosting its annual Halloween event and this year, ‘Fortnitemares’ has already been making a name for itself for all the wrong reasons.
The event is set to feature all new horror-themed skins and a Fortnite Reload map titled Nitemare Island which is littered with horrifying decorations and locations, but it will also include three new headliners set to make an appearance.
Alongside horror icons such as Jason, Ghostface, Scooby-Doo, and more, rapper Doja Cat will also be headlining Fortnitemares alongside two tracks from her newest album: AAAHH MEN! and Gorgeous.

“Fear gets a new face,” the official Fortnite blog post reads.
“Meet the Mother of Thorns, Doja Cat, who’s twisting Battle Royale into her haunted kingdom and unleashing chaos with a wild cast of characters. From Jason to Wednesday Addams to Scooby-Doo and Ghost Face, VIPs of fright await.”
However, Doja Cat’s arrival went less than smoothly after a social media blunder which was definitely not appropriate for Fortnite’s large underage playerbase.
Earlier this week, Doja Cat was set to take over the official Fortnite Twitter account to promote her arrival to the game.

However, with the first Tweet by her reading, “Mother of rose toys,” it was not very SFW to say the least.
With rose toys being synonymous with sex toys, there was both confusion and outrage and it was not long before Doja Cat herself denied any responsibility.
"I told them not to man that's not even me. I said this yesterday and then said 'don't post that' :/,” she shared on Twitter.
The interaction has since been taken down but was screenshot for prosperity by Kotaku so you can see the blunder in all of its glory if you wish.

Despite some fans claiming that it was all planned as some sort of publicity stunt, it seems unlikely that Epic Games would risk NSFW content being posted on its official Fortnite account but hey, stranger things have happened.
Nevertheless, this Fortnite blunder comes just weeks after John Cena’s Peacekeeper dance emote was removed from the in-game store thanks to its similarities to a certain Nazi salute.
However, a revised version is expected to head back into the store this week alongside the arrival of Fortnitemares.
Hopefully no other mistakes will happen from now until Christmas.
