PlayStation fans may remember that way back in May of last year, Papa Sony promised that you would be able to link your PlayStation account with your Discord account. Much like how Twitch has long had integration with the messaging platform, PlayStation users would then be able to carry some of their boons into their chat servers. For Twitch this means use of subscriber emotes, subscriber only channels and showing others when and what you're streaming. However, for other apps such as Twitter or YouTube the integration is a little more minimal.

PlayStation integration plays a similar role to these. Discord users will be able to see what PlayStation game you are currently playing through the app. This will work whether you are currently playing via your PS4 or PS5. If you want you can also show your PlayStation ID so if your friends want to add you and join in, it would be very simple to do so. Things such as avatars are not currently useable cross platform but integration only launched yesterday, so the possibility of other features coming in the future is always there.
Unfortunately for now, only PlayStation accounts linked to the United States are available to be added to your Discord account. If you are the proud owner of a PlayStation account with a U.S. address, you can now link it to Discord via User Setting > Connections in the Discord app. This works on mobile, web or desktop, essentially wherever you have your Discord app. If your account isn't for this region though don't lose heart. Discord has promised that international account integration will be rolling out "gradually" over time.
Discord claims it has been working on everything "super secretly" since May which is the reason for such a delayed announcement. However you feel about it, the integration is here, so you can tell the world just what PlayStation games your playing without feeling like you're showing off.
