‘Diablo 4’ Fans Sign Up To Get Permanent Tattoo In Exchange For Beta Access

If you want access to the beta of Diablo IV, you're going to have to get a permanent tattoo.

How far would you be willing to go in order to gain access to the latest beta of your favourite franchise? Well, Diablo IV fans will have to sign up for some permanent ink. Seriously.

The reputation of Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo franchise isn’t at its best. In case you missed it, Diablo Immortal recently caused quite the stir after it was revealed that it could cost players £88,000 to fully upgrade their characters with in-game progression locked behind a paywall. You may wonder then if anyone would truly want the franchise inked on their skin but that’s exactly what Diablo fans are signing up for.

Check out Diablo IV’s latest cinematic trailer below.

Yesterday, Blizzard Entertainment officially kicked off its Diablo Hell’s Ink Tour. The tour runs from 16 July to 10 September, travelling to a number of cities around the world for one day only. Tour stops include Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Miami, London, Berlin, Melbourne and Sydney.

Fans can apply to get a unique (and permanent) Diablo tattoo, or they can line-up on the day itself. In exchange for permanently inking their flesh, fans will receive beta access to Diablo IV as well as a free digital copy of the game when it releases next year.

Blizzard Entertainment wrote, “Diablo fans around the world have turned to tattoos to manifest not just their passion for the franchise, but the stories of family, friendships, and memories they’ve made playing Diablo games. To honour our community and celebrate Diablo’s 25th anniversary this year, we’re launching the Diablo Hell’s Ink tattoo shop takeover tour.”

“Each Diablo Hell’s Ink takeover event will feature some of the world’s greatest tattoo artists creating bespoke tattoos, inspired by the Diablo universe with their own unique art style, for a few of the world’s biggest Diablo fans,” they added. Naturally, the event is only open to fans over the age of 18. Safe to say, I don’t think the Diablo IV beta is going to be too crowded at this cost.
