Daisy Ridley is down to return to Star Wars

Daisy Ridley is down to return to Star Wars

Daisy Ridley is open to a Star Wars return.

Actress Daisy Ridley who played Rey in the most recent Star Wars trilogy has said that she’s open to returning to the franchise.

When talking to IMDB (thanks Gamesradar), Ridley said: “I mean, I’m open to a phone call” and that she’s “looking for employment” when on the topic of a potential return to Star Wars.

We think it’s fair to say that Daisy Ridley shot to fame when she played Rey in 2015s, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, which for better or worse, spawned two more sequels with The Last Jedi (2017) and The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

The actress was also asked what she was most proud of while portraying Rey in Star Wars.

"The thing that springs to mind is in Star Wars: The Force Awakens...with Harrison Ford, the little-known actor," Ridley joked. “He gave me the gun and I said something like, 'I can take care of myself.' I was so nervous that when I was doing it I was like, 'Oh my God, it's Harrison Ford.' So I was proud that I got through the thing and seemed fairly casual.”

Ridley has portrayed Rey in other Star Wars adaptations, as well as playing CottonTail in the 2018 Peter Rabbit movie. The actress even starred alongside James McAvoy in the murder thriller video game, Twelve Minutes.

While the future of the Star Wars movie franchise remains unclear at this time, the arrival of the streaming platform Disney Plus leaves the door wide open to endless possibilities.

If Daisy was to return as Rey, she could quite easily do so in a series akin to The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan and Andor. December 2022, Stars Wars fans argued the case that Rey could be saved with a solo series. So perhaps the fans could be on to something?

I for one hope that Ridley gets another opportunity to play Rey in Star Wars once more.
