It looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s beta already isn’t going down very well, as hackers have reportedly already invaded the game.

Although Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 won’t be released until mid-November, Treyarch is currently running a free beta for players hoping to try out the game before launch.

However, Black Ops 7 players are already getting frustrated by the hackers that have infiltrated the beta, who appear to be ruining the game for everyone else.

As spotted by ModernWarzone on X (formerly Twitter), clips have already been posted online showing players that appear to have access to wall hacks and aimbots, giving them a significant advantage over other players.

Treyarch has confirmed that players using such cheats have already been manually banned.

The fact that these cheats even exist in the first place is surprising, considering that Black Ops 7 requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled on PC, two measures which supposedly enhance cheat detection and prevent them from ruining multiplayer lobbies.

It should be noted that Activision’s kernel-level anti-cheat system, Ricochet, isn’t present in the beta though and will only be added to Black Ops 7 when it launches.

There is a silver lining to this story though. While this may have soured the experience for anyone who ran into a cheater during the Black Ops 7 beta weekend, it has given Treyarch the opportunity to improve its anti-cheat system and ensured a better launch experience.

“How Halo is failing while Call of Duty exists is crazy to me,” wrote one user on Reddit.

“Part of me thinks the customers deserve better. Part of me thinks they deserve exactly what they get for buying something called Call of Duty: Black Ops 7,” another Reddit comment reads.

“I really hope Battlefield 6 wipes the floor with COD,” a third comment reads. “I mean, we all know it won’t. Cause everyone still buys COD like everyone buys Madden but I can dream.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 releases on 14th November, 2025 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

It’s a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, featuring a few of the same characters and continuing the story that was set up in that game. There doesn’t appear to be many links to last year’s Black Ops 6 at the moment, but those connections may be held back by Treyarch until release.
