While we wait for BioShock 4 we have the absolute next-best thing to look forward to in 2025.

Seeing the whale swim past our eyes as we venture into Rapture for the first time, when we form an unexpected bond with characters in BioShock 2 or when we feel the terror of being hunted by the Songbird in BioShock Infinite, there’s a lot of reasons why we love this 2K series so much.

Check out the Judas trailer below!

Understandably, fans are hyped for the release of BioShock 4 which was announced in 2019. Yes, it’s been six years since that game was announced and we’ve still not seen any gameplay nor do we know its release date.

The radio silence of BioShock 4 has fans worried it’s been lost in the dreaded developmental hell. Hopefully, that is not the case, but if it is, you may at least be pleased to know that the next best thing is arriving this year (assuming it doesn't get delayed).

It’s perhaps worth keeping in mind that BioShock 4 isn't being developed by series veteran Ken Levine and Irrational Games. Instead, the studio in charge of this huge project is a new 2K studio called Cloud Chamber.

So what is this next best thing, I hear you ask? Well, it was first announced at The Game Awards in 2022, and that game is Judas. What’s more, Judas is being developed by another new studio, Ghost Story Games with Ken Levine in charge.

We were treated to the first gameplay trailer of Judas in February 2024 and it did not disappoint. It certainly had that BioShock charm but rather than being set under the sea or in the clouds, Judas is set in outer space.

Judas is being powered by Unreal Engine 5 and by the looks of the trailer, it’s going to be a proper next-gen game, so hopefully, it won’t disappoint.

Judas is currently scheduled to be released at some point in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We’ll keep you posted when a confirmed release date drops.
