Assassin’s Creed Shadows has received its first hefty free update, and it’s a corker.

Fair to say, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the colossal win that Ubisoft so desperately needed.

The game secured a very respectable top score of 85 over on Metacritic, and fans have been full of praise for Naoe and Yasuke’s open world adventure.

Of course, there’s some petulant noise surrounding the game too, but we’ll just ignore that.

If you haven’t yet begun a playthrough, it’s now a great time to do so as the title has welcomed Patch 1.0.2.

It doesn’t matter if you’re partway through either; this update brings some welcomed changes for all, regardless of where you are in the game.

You can take a look at Assassin’s Creed Shadows in action below.

The patch is pretty hefty, coming in at 19.5GB on Xbox, 11.59GB on PlayStation, 16.05GB on PC, 11GB on Steam, and 9GB on Mac.

Horse auto-follow has been introduced, while horse speeds have been increased in cities.

Players can now reset mastery nodes, while the option to tag and sell/dismantle items has been added to help make trading even more seamless.

A new shortcut has been introduced, making access to the investigation board even more seamless, while a whole host of quest, combat, AI, balancing, world, hideout, graphics, controls, and audio fixes have been applied.

I urge you to go and have a peruse of the full patch notes.

Needless to say, fans are full of praise for the update.

“Being able to group sell or group dismantle is a huge relief. Also the horse moving faster through cities is a nice QoL update,” wrote Reddit user waynechriss.

“Literally everything the community was asking for is addressed, amazing,” added AdWise657.

“Well this was quick, thanks for the update, I'm loving the game so far, the better it gets the better,” remarked NoNameAssassiN.

The update is available now so do make sure that you’re playing the latest version of the game.
