ARC Raiders players are calling on the developers to change one of the game's most frustrating features.
No doubt, ARC Raiders is one of the biggest success stories of 2025 and perhaps without the likes of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Split Fiction, it may have stood a better chance of picking up some Game of the Year awards. However, it did claim the ‘Best Multiplayer’ gong at TGA, so that’s awesome.
Developed by the indie team at Embark Studios, ARC Raiders is still garnering impressive concurrent player numbers, at least on the PC platform, on Steam. Achieving a very impressive all-time peak around the launch of 481,966, five months later, it still has an impressive 145,586, over the last 24 hours, at the time of writing.
Since its launch in October 2025, Embark Studios has not only released a plethora of patches to fix bugs and address player feedback, but it has also supported ARC Raiders with regular content updates and events. However, there is one fix that players are calling on the developers to change ASAP.
“Petition to change back the Rocketeer sounds to pre-flash point,” called Redditor Phycorax. “Frankly, the new noise isn't iconic anymore and should belong to the Vaporiser only. Also, it's ear-screeching, and I dislike it. Please revert it in a hotfix.”

“I've been happy with pretty much every change with every update so far, but changing the iconic Rocketeer sound to be the same as the Vaporiser seems like a massive misstep,” replied Timothy_Ryan.
“Yeah, it's weird they changed it. Every ARC should have a unique sound. Pops and Fireballs sound too similar, as do Comets and Surveyors,” added Clavus.
“Completely agree, it’s super weird. They changed it to match the Vaporiser sound as well. I want unique sounds,” said Grizzled--Kinda.

In some cases, I wouldn't be all that optimistic that the developers would address this issue reported by players. However, Embark Studios has an excellent record of listening to its playerbase, so I’d be shocked if this ear-screeching noise isn't fixed in the next update or two.
ARC Raiders is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with crossplay multiplayer support.
