PlayStation Plus free RPG has one of the biggest open worlds you'll ever explore

Got some time? Dive into this free massive open-world title

Sometimes you just need to accept that you are not going on holiday any time soon and the only way you can experience amazing places is through video games. Ok, I may be projecting.

However, it is true that video games allow us to explore places we may never get the chance to in real life because of money, time or simply the fact that Ancient Greece is a bit inaccessible at the moment.

Nevertheless, PlayStation Plus Extra members can access it via Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which is now available at no extra cost for subscribers.

Released back in 2018, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the 11th major instalment in the long-running RPG series which sees us return to Ancient Greece during a time of prophecy, mythology and the occasional historical figure.

As you can probably imagine, Ancient Greece spanned across quite a large area and Ubisoft did not shy away from capturing it in its entirety. Not only is it home to the main quest (which is easily strayed from), there are countless side quests, Easter eggs, secrets, points of interest and more.

Quite literally, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey boasts one of gaming’s biggest open worlds and when that isn’t for everybody, others would love to get lost in its historical and mythological setting.

With Ubisoft dialing back its large-scale maps in the most recent Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the PlayStation Plus Extra deal is perfect for those who have the time to explore.

In general, it seems as though developers are turning back to its roots following the recent report that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Hexe title will bring back one of the series’ most underrated features.

This is unsurprising considering many fans agree the original titles were the best so it remains to be seen if Ubisoft is capable of capturing that magic again.
