Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer finally lets you roam Night City with friends

Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer finally lets you roam Night City with friends

The streets of Night City can feel a little less lonely now thanks a multiplayer mod for Cyberpunk 2077.

The streets of Night City can feel a little less lonely now thanks a multiplayer mod for Cyberpunk 2077.

Night City is a pretty bleak place, where gangs rule and Corpos stand idly by and while you do meet some friendly faces as you explore the city, you're mostly left to fend for yourself.

Idris Elba recently confirmed he'd be interested in returning to the world of Cyberpunk during an interview for Knuckles, check it out below

Not anymore though, as a new mod for the game will let you play it with friends, and it's really cool.

The first thing worth pointing out is CD Projekt Red didn't intend for Cyberpunk 2077 to be a multiplayer game, though they also probably didn't intend to release It half-baked either.

Because of this the mod still has a few hiccups and hurdles to overcome, being in a very early stage of development at the time of writing.

You can follow the mod’s development on the YouTube page CyberMP, which regularly posts update videos as well as test footage of the mod in action.

Similar multiplayer tests have been done for other popular singleplayer games, most notably Hogwarts Legacy which can seemingly support hundreds of players with the right server.

For Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer things seem a bit more tricky, and don’t expect a completed product to let you play through the main story with a friend, as that’s clearly not going to happen.

That being said, just the idea of cruising out Night City with your buddies, escaping the law and shooting some cyberpsychos up to no good seems like all the fun you’d really need.

There’s no telling when the mod will be finished, and then when it’ll be released to the public, though you can obviously stay tuned to the CyberMP YouTube channel for further updates.
